The Wisconsin Alumni Association is an organization designed to serve the needs of all Badger alumni and promote the welfare of the entire University of Wisconsin-Madison. Contributions support Alumni Learning programs, student scholarships, advocacy efforts and so much more!
In many ways this group can trace its origins to 1849, when the first class at UW-Madison was held. That founding inspired WAA in 1924 to start what is now one of the oldest Badger traditions, Founders’ Day. And Badgers who contribute at this level will find themselves as revered as this tradition itself!
Named after the Distinguished Alumni Awards we've been presenting to alumni since 1936 for their professional achievements, contributions to society and support of the university, this group also includes a who's who of prestigious Badgers.
In many ways, all alumni and friends of the university are super Badgers, thanks to the pride felt in the UW’s stellar sports teams and educational excellence. But only those who reside in this group have official dibs on the title.
This is a great entry point for those looking to help preserve what’s most important about being a Badger. The Big Red group offers everybody an opportunity to make a difference.
